Material Handling Designer

Steel Storage Systems Inc.: March 2011-December 2012, September 2005-June 2008. Designed and detailed material handling equipment, including conveyor systems, and rack storage units. All products were made from structural steel elements.

·         Lead designer for 140+ projects and served as project head for most system designs.

·         Coordinated with the shop, sales team, and engineering elements to design, and deliver projects on time.

·         Crated BOM’s and material takeoff estimates.

·         Tracked project’s progress through fabrication, delivery and installation.

·         Trained new employees in general project flow, drawing standards, design requirements, document control, bill of material creation and company practices.

·         Reviewed designs to meet OSHA and other safety requirements.

·         Routed projects through manufacturing and inventory control using the Visual Manufacturing ERP system.
